On certain Mercedes-Benz C200 BLUE EFFICIENCY, C250 BLUE EFFICIENCY, C300 (platform W204) and GLK 250 4MATIC, GLK 220 CDI 4MATIC, GLK 300 4MATIC (platform X204) manufactured and assembled by Mercedes-Benz Viet Nam in the period from May 2011 to July 2015 in the affected list (according to affected vehicle list) that need to be recalled for free inspection and replacement of the front passenger airbag.
The air pump is a part of the airbag unit. It contains solid fuel that is burned in the event the airbag is activated. This process releases gas to inflate the airbag. On affected vehicles, the gas generator (supplied by TAKATA) may be manufactured with the risk of moisture ingress over time and under specific climatic conditions. In the event of an accident and the airbag system is activated, depending on the circumstances, the release of gas may create too much internal pressure and lead to the possibility of the gas generator bursting. In this case, this airbag would not develop its restraint effect and the occupants would be at a risk of injury due to separating parts of the gas generator.
Therefore, for affected vehicles (according to the attached list), customers need to take the car to the authorized dealers of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam Company to have the new airbag unit replaced (replacement part included gas generator).
Up to now, MBV has not received any reports related to the described fault profile related to the TAKATA airbag inflator occurring on our vehicle platforms. However, because the safety of our customers is our top priority. Therefore, we decided to conduct a recall of the affected vehicles to replace the affected airbag unit in order to minimize the risk to customers.
To ensure the interests of customers, for the rights and safety of customers and accompanying passengers, when customers receive notices from authorized dealers of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam or via the portal of the Viet Nam Register or the media, customers who are using vehicles under the recall program should contact an Authorized Dealer of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam to have them checked and repaired according to repair instructions.

On certain vehicles Mercedes-Benz C200 CGI, C200K, C230, C250 CGI, C300 (platform W204), E300 (platform W212) and GLK 280 4MATIC, GLK 300 4MATIC (platform X204) manufactured and assembled by MBV in the period from August 2007 to August 2012. On vehicles Mercedes-Benz A170, A200 (platform 169), GL450 4MATIC, ML350 4MATIC (platform 164), R280, R300, R350, R500 4MATIC (platform 251), E350 (platform W212), C200 CGI ( platform W204) imported and distributed by MBV with a production period from 12/2004 to 02/2012 needs to be recalled to check and replace driver airbag & front passenger airbag according to Mercedes-Benz AG recall code 9196004 and 9196006.
Driver airbag and front passenger airbags are equipped on vehicles to help reduce the risk of injury to the head, neck, chest of the driver and front passenger when the car was hit from the front. The gas generator is part of the airbag, which contains solid fuel that is burned in the event the airbag is activated, this process releases gas that inflates the airbag.
On affected vehicles, the gas generator (supplied by TAKATA) may be manufactured with the risk of moisture ingress over time and under specifice climatic conditions. In the event that the vehicle is involved in an accident and the airbag system is activated, the release of inert gas may create too much internal pressure and lead to the possibility of the gas generator bursting, In this case, this airbag would not develop its restraint effect and the occupants would be at a risk of injury due to separating parts of the gas generator.
Up to now, MBV has not received any report related to the described fault profile related to TAKATA airbags occurring on platforms assembled by MBV. However, because the safety of our customers is our top priority. Therefore, we are recalling the affected vehicles to replace the affected airbag assembly in order to minimize the risk to customers.
Therefore, for affected vehicles (see attached list), we ask customers to ensure safety, customers need to bring vehicles to an authorized MBV dealer for inspection and repair free of charge for the above mentioned airbag units (replacement airbag includes the gas generator), the estimated time of repair is about 2 hours. For the above-mentioned imported Mercedes-Benz vehicles that were not imported via MBV authorized dealers and affected by the recall (not on MBV's list of affected vehicles), customers can contact MBV's authorized dealer to check the information and vehicle is repaired free of charge if it is affected according to announced recall by Mercedes-Benz AG.

The fixation of the trim bar at the rear door windows might not meet specifications. Thus, the trim bar might separate from the vehicle while driving. This would increase the risk of an accident or injury for other road users.

According to recall information from Mercedes-Benz AG, on certain Mercedes-Benz ML (platform 166) and GLE (platform 292) with production period from March 2012 to October 2019 that imported, distributed by MBV (see the attached list), needs to be recalled to check and fix the following fault:
Water might permeate into the rear area of the vehicle and, over time, accumulate in the spare wheel well. In certain driving situations, accumulated water could briefly come into contact with the fuel pump control unit. Consequently, the fuel supply to the engine could be impaired, which would lead to a loss of propulsion without pre-warning. In such circumstances. This will increase the risk of accident or injury to other road users.
Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is implementing a recall campaign to check and fix the fault and install an additional drain valve in the spare wheel compartment for affected vehicles as a preventive measure. To ensure the customer interests, when customers receive recall notices from authorized dealers of Mercedes-Benz Viet Nam or through the portal of the Viet Nam Register or the media, customers are using the affected vehicles of this campaign, customers need to contact an Authorized Dealer of Mercedes-Benz Viet Nam for inspection and repair. On certain Mercedes-Benz C300 (platform W206), S450, Maybach S680 4MATIC  (platform V223) and AMG G 63 (platform 463), GLC300 4MATIC (platform X253), GLE/GLS 450 4MATIC & GLE 53 4MATIC, Maybach GLS600 4MATIC  (platform X167) imported and distributed by MBV and on certain Mercedes-Benz C200, C300 (platform W206) and, GLC 200, GLC200/GLC300 4MATIC (platform X253) manufactured and assembled by MBV with production time from July/ 2021 to September 2022 (attached list) that need to be recalled to check and replace the fuel delivery module to fix the fault according to the recall campaign of Mercedes-Benz AG (Campaign code 4790205).

The fuel delivery module on affected vehicles unfortunately might not meet specifications. Therefore, the function of the fuel delivery module could be impaired under certain conditions and the fuel pump could be switched off. As a result, the vehicle could spontaneously lose propulsion. This could increase the risk of accident or injury on the roads. 

Therefore, we are recalling the affected vehicles to check and replace the fuel delivery module for the affected vehicles as a precautionary measure.

For affected vehicles, customers need to bring the car to the authorized dealers of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam nationwide to have it checked according to the manufacturer's technical instructions. The work required as part of the recall will of course be carried out free of charge, the repair time is about 1.5 hours.
