The 9G-TRONIC is the first 9 speed automatic transmission in the segment to feature a hydrodynamic torque converter, resulting in almost imperceptible gear changes. This transmission also offers powerful and smooth performance at low torques. The GLE 400/GLE 400 Exclusive can reach its maximum rated torque right at 1.600 rpm without much effort from the engine.
The intervals between the gears are almost reduced with 9 different gears, which allows the 9G-TRONIC to cut down on fuel consumption by up to 6.5% on the GLE. According to the manufacturer’s experiment, combined fuel consumption (urban and extra-urban) of the GLE 400 fitted with the 9G-TRONIC is 8.5-8.7 liters/100km, considerably lower than 9.2 liters when using the 7G-TRONIC. Hence, the 9G-TRONIC enables the GLE 400 to be equally or even more economical than other rivals using a turbocharged 2.0L engine in its segment. Acceleration time of the GLE 400 from zero to100 km/h is reduced to 6 seconds, which is the quickest in the segment and can be compared to many sport cars. The 9G-TRONIC still offers sporty experience thanks to a gearshift paddle behind the steering wheel.
From above data, the GLE can be seen as the leader in terms of performance and efficiency in its segment. Not only can the GLE accelerate quickest and more powerful than rivals equipped with a V6 or biturbo V6 engine, but it is also equally economical to competitors using a turbocharged 2.0L engine. Significantly, it is the smooth 9G-TRONIC that allows the GLE to easily do this without much effort from the engine.
Equipped with the new 9G-TRONIC as the GLE is, its price remain constant. The GLE 400 and GLE 400 Exclusive are priced at 3.599 bil VND and 3.899 bil VND respectively (VAT included).
