Even at the development stage, we attach great importance to creating vehicle designs which use environment-friendly and recyclable materials, for example: uniform materials for bumpers and underbody trim panelling. These can be easily dismantled and segregated to provide high quality reusable materials.
We also use many renewable raw materials in our vehicles, such as coconut fibre, sisal or recyclate. The advantages are obvious: they are easy on the environment and recyclable. In the Daimler AG Environmental Protection Guidelines, we commit to continually improving the environmental compatibility of our products. This is the standard we work to on a daily basis in order to further optimise the environmental compatibility of our vehicles.
