Mercedes-Benz Vietnam kicks-off its first event after Tet by a press gathering on 26 February 2011 to officially introduce its product upgrades for GLK and the new arrival of CL500 (S-class coupe). The event was also a weekend outing for families to have fun for their kids and discover new touches of latest Mercedes-Benz cars.


At the event, Dr. Udo Loersch, General Director and Mr. Martin Schulz, Sales and Marketing Director wrapped up the company’s result in 2010 and presented the new plan for 2011. Most strikingly, 72% market share in premium auto segment was an impressive figure for the three pointed star in Vietnam in 2010. In 2011, the company’s strategy is to continue to bring the latest models to Vietnam, opening new dealer outlets throughout the country, working out new activities for its traditional customers as well as reaching new young target groups. At the same time MBV plans to focus more on community activities like supporting education and charitable works.

Six GLK in six colors: Obsidian Black, Irridium Silver, Calcite White, Fire Opal, Tenorite Grey, Sanidine Beige were displayed nicely at the event. Especially, this time, Mercedes-Benz is tuning a new face to its famous family SUV by retrofitting the front bumper with new LEDs with Day-time driving function. This feature gives a stylish look, eye-catching from front view, especially in night driving and increases driving safety. GLK customers now can also feel more convenient to have their car installed with the new running boards/side steps which also bring more safety and strong-look from side views. The simple equipments are best-fitted for family use – making more ease for children to get in or off the car and preventing the side bumpers from damages.

As the most exclusive model series from Mercedes-Benz, the new CL-class model year 2011 offering first-class ride comfort was also introduced at the event, besides its brother – S-Class – the pinnacle of luxury. The CL-class was first launched in Europe in 1999. Its predecessor today – the version introduced in 2006 already set new standards in luxury coupe segment and reach new heights in terms of innovation and exclusivity. The 2011 CL-class now offers a compelling combination of even more dominant exterior design, a high-quality handcrafted interior, perfectly coordinated colour concept, exceptionally comfortable seats and technical innovations such as the ultra-efficient CGI V8 4.5L engine or fantastic suspension system ABC. Thanks to the ABC system including crosswind stabilization function, the Direct Steer system and Torque vectoring brake also ensure high level of agility. The state-of-the-art radar, camera and sensor technology become an intelligent partner of driver, for example ATTENTION ASSIST warns against extremely dangerous micro-sleep, PRE-SAFE help mitigate the severity of the accidents when a collision is recognized, Night View Assist additionally detect pedestrians in the camera image, as well as full-range entertainment systems such as: SPLITVIEW screen, TV receiver, DVD players, Harman Kardon Logic 7 sound system, Universal Media Interface, Bluetooth…
