125 years to the day after Carl Benz – one of the founders of Mercedes-Benz today, registered his “vehicle with gas engine drive” with the Berlin Patent Office in 1886 and to be acknowledged as the first automobile in the world, Mercedes-Benz has celebrated the anniversary of the automobile this year.
Mercedes-Benz and its parent company – Daimler AG are marking the official start of the year with numerous activities to celebrate the 125 year anniversary of the brand: such as special bonus for workforce, celebration events, social programs, assistance for the Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz Research Foundation…


In Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz kicks off its jubilee year 2011 with the new promotion campaign to support customers and say thank to Mercedes faithfuls over the last ten years since the company began to be No.1 in the premium auto market until now. The promotion is given to either Mercedes buyers, obtaining 5% registration fee support for GLK 4MATIC, SLK roadster, CLS sedan-coupe and E350 Coupe; or car loan users via Techcombank with 12,5% fixed interest rate of first year for C-class, E-class and GLK model year 2011.

The pioneers of automobile manufacture in the 19th century were Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz – who invents the first engine-powered vehicles for the world and generate the fantastic auto brand name – Mercedes during 1886 – 1920. The Benz Patent Motor Car with 4-stroke engine, 0,954 litres of capacity, producing a power of 0,55KW and a top speed 16km/h is a real foundation of the greatest development of technology bearing the name Mercedes today. In 1954, Mercedes-Benz breaks the world with its most innovative sport car – the 300SL Gullwing – inspired from the victorious 24 Hours Le Mans racing car 300SL but, with distinctive gullwing doors and the world’s first direct petrol injection system for a four stroke engine. As the inventor of automobile, Mercedes-Benz continued to introduce the world’s first car with the vital ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) – the S-class which can facilitate life-saving multi-tasking on the road in 1978. Since 1992, all Mercedes models have been fitted with ABS as standard, and now it comes further – the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard on all Mercedes passenger cars. Nowadays, Mercedes-Benz is making more research on electric cars to put a next step to the future – the era of emission-free mobility.
