• Car prices increase from 0- 3.6% - lower than VAT change of 5%
• Lixi for Tet until 28th February 2010
Mercedes-Benz Vietnam ended the year 2009 with great success, achieving a sales volume of 3,400 units in total, a year-on-year increase of 58%. Among which, passenger vehicles took a higher majority of 1761 units, an increase of 80 % compared to 2008.
“2009 was a successful year for Mercedes-Benz Vietnam.” said Dr. Udo Loersch, general director of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam. “We still see big customer demand before Lunar New Year as there are many customers who could not get the car in December 2009. Therefore we decided to extend the lower 2009 prices (5% VAT) until 28th February 2010 as some early Tet “lixi” to our customers.”
As part of the stimulation package of the Government during 1 April – 31 December 2009, VAT for autos was reduced to 5%. From 1 January 2010 it has got back to 10%. However, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam has announced the new price list with the increased level being from 0-3.6%, lower than the VAT change of 5% and will take effect from 1st March 2010 as an incentive for customer to buy cars before Tet.
