To meet the demand of a roomy car, the new C-Class is extended at all dimensions. The C-Class is 100 mm longer, 36 mm wider and the wheelbase is lengthened by 80 mm – becoming the biggest car in its class. With the wheelbase of 2840 mm, the new C-Class transformed itself to be a truly mid-size sedan.
Inside the cabin, the headroom of the front seats is improved by 26 mm and the legroom of the rear seats is extended by even 55 mm. At any position in the C-Class, customers can feel the increased roominess. Though bigger, the C-Class is now much lighter. The hybrid body-shell made of aluminum, hot-formed ultra-high-strength steel, high-strength steel is reinforced with 20% more aluminum than the previous generation. The curb weight of the C 200 is now only 1,465 kg and just increases a bit to 1,480 kg on the C 250 Exclusive and C 250 AMG – much lighter than any competitor.
The 3 variants of the C-Class in Vietnam are equipped with the latest high-efficiency M274 engine. On the C 200, the maximum torque is increased to 300Nm and early-reached at 1.200 rpm. This characteristic makes the car easy to speed up right at the first throttle. C 200 accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 7,3 s – fastest in its displacement league. For customers who want to enjoy a powerful car, 211 hp at 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm at 1,200-4,000 rpm of on the C 250 AMG or the C 250 Exclusive will meet their expectation by reaching 100 kh/h in 6,6 seconds.
Especially, even providing the torque immediately and flashy accelerating, the M274 is extremely economical. The average consumption of both variants is only 5,3 – 5,5 litres/100km. With a full tank of 66 litres, a C-Class can go for a range of 1,200km – the same distance as Ha Noi to Nha Trang.
