According to official figures, in 2006 there were 14.000 traffic accidents causing death of 12.000 people, the highest level in the last 3 years. So everyday there are 30 people killed, or 1.000 people per month, a terrifying, alarming number.
Therefore, safety traffic is now one of the biggest concerns of the Vietnamese Government. But that’s not enough. We need the concern of the entire community about this issue. The conciousness of obeying traffic rules must be strengthened to become a habit.
In this context, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is very pleased when Ho Chi Minh City, the “Sai Gon Giai Phong” Daily and others organize the “Safety Drivers 2007” Contest. This contest is to honour safety drivers, increase the habit to observe traffic rules, and eventually help to reduce traffic accidents.
As a company operating in Vietnam auto industry, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is very committed to support the Government to increase traffic safety. It should be ensured, that the growth of automobile industry and motorization must go along with less traffic accidents.
Mercedes-Benz Vietnam will cooperate with the organizers to provide our factory site at Go Vap District to set up the driving configuration for the Contest. We also supply all vehicles for driving contest level B & D including the 16-seater minibus Sprinter Special 313 and 4-seater model C180K Sport.
On top of that, we also sponsor 450 million VND for prizes, set-up costs and communication activities of the Contest.

Exterior and interior design have the sporty but safety and luxury style with sporty steering wheels, combination meter, brake pedal, THERMACTIC air conditioner, auto system like "mobile theater" with radio and CD player...
“There is one thing in an automobile you can’t get enough of. That’s safety”. Safety is the top priority in Mercedes-Benz engineering for over 100 years. That’s why Mercedes-Benz has invented key safety features in automobile: ABS, airbag, PRE-SAFE system,… to name a few.
But one important thing is, safety traffic must be a combination of safety car and safety driver. Therefore, we always pay high attention to participate and support safety training for drivers.
We are sure that the contest “Safety Drivers 2007” is an important event which should be enlarged more and more. Over the next years, “Safety Driving” should become a habit of everybody and the accident rate should be dramatically reduced.
