 | Mercedes-Benz Vietnam just announces today that the company is in a final stage of preparation to launch its new C-Class in Vietnam. This is good news for car-lovers and those interested in the luxury Mercedes-Benz brand, especially the dynamic and young successful people in Vietnam.
Since its first launch in Europe in summer 2007, the new C-Class has not only celebrated its world premiere but also set new trends in design and technology, which is an impressively outstanding combination of superlative safety, comfort and agility.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan met a tremendous response from customers worldwide in the first three months after its market launch. In last June alone its sales volume reached 22.800 units globally. The new C-Class has been proved to be of great success after its launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore recently. Vietnam wil be the first assembly location to launch the new C-Class to its market, followed later by Malaysia, Thailand, etc.
This great success deserves the cumulation of many years of deliberation for the new C-Class. It took a long time of more than 4 years to build up and turn the innovative ideas into a perfect design. Beginning in summer 2003, a total of 280 C-Class prototypes have clocked up for testing. The test was divided into many different stages over a period of three and a half years, focusing on systematic long-distance tests in everyday traffic and at proving grounds and under various climatic and topographic conditions. The "World Test" in three continents was one of the highlights of the systematic test marathon for the new C-Class. Four fully equipped pre-production vehicles successfully came through the tests in Germany, Finland, Dubai and Namibia, under widely fluctuating climatic and topographic conditions. All of the vehicle components and systems – from the diesel particulate filter to the seats, from the door hinges to the shock absorbers – were tested once again and have testified the superiority in technology.
Furthermore, 15 new C-Class pre-production models took part in a stiff final examination before production launch, involving tests in six countries within a period of seven months. It has undergone over 24 million test kilometres and extremely tough test-rig programs to optimise long-term quality. Never before has a newly developed Mercedes model undergone such an extensive additional test programme – and passed with such flying colours. This proves that New C-Class is really a strategic product line-up and a contemporary revolution of Mercedes-Benz both in technology and design.
Mercedes-Benz Vietnam is in the last process of technology transference to assembly first new C-Class units in Vietnam. Many technological experts from Germany have come to MBV factory to assist in new production line set-up, new technology, facilities, testing equipment, etc. The testing program to ensure internationally Mercedes-Benz’s quality of new product has to comply with an absolutely precise process. One of the major parts is the destructive test which is based on six car bodies, including destructive tests of welding spots and adhesive connections on vehicles and parts. Before that, all welded spots and adhesive joints all have go through visual and ultrasonic check. The purpose of overall destructive tests is to ensure the durability and the strength of the vehicle’s body. MBV has also built up a totally new test track only for C-Class with different surfaces, such as saw tooth, bubble stones of high and low frequency, curve, twisting track, ESP track, etc. to test for the vehicle’s noise detection, driving dynamic and functionality, etc.

 | In the meanwhile, all high-skilled MBV workers and engineers have been trained to utilize new facility and technology by experts from Germany to ensure precise implementation of all production processes. Every vehicle must pass the QM-release of process, taking place at every station during the production of the vehicle. Before mass production of the new C-Class, another different team of experts from Germany also come to conduct a final check. A checklist is set up for every station and is filled our by Production, QM, Logistic, Engineering, Matenaince, etc. all together. All stations are audited three times and only when all problems are solve, a Q-release will be given. All these activities are to ensure the highest quality of Mercedes-Benz products are the same every where in the world. |  | The new C-Class is a new great success story of Mercedes-Benz worldwide and definitely will be strengthened further in Vietnam. According to specialists, no other product-line in its segment can surpass the new C-Class both in design and technology with its unique balance of driving characteristics.
